Someone I love

Someone that I love...my dog Titan.

I also thought about him with respect to How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci. Dog's have heightened senses of smell and sound.  The Dog Breed Information Center reports that dog's sense of smell is most sensitive, and is in fact up to 10,000,000 times more senstive than our own.  Their sense of hearing is also more acute than our own, since they are able to hear higher pitches of noise and can hear sounds from up to four times as far away as we can.  Perhaps most interesting is their sense of energy or emotion according to the Dog Breed Information Center.  Dogs can sense danger, fear, and even pending weather.  While Sensazione is essential to our creativity, it is interesting to think about the limitations of our own senses. For example, the peacock mantis shrimp has an extraordinary sense of vision according to Matthew Inman, a cartoonist who wrote about the anminal for a blog post.  Peacock mantis shrimp can see infrared and ultraviolent portions of the light spectrum  with 16 different color receptive cones compared to our own 3. What colors are they able to sense that we cannot? What would that even look like? These were things that I contemplated during our discussion today.
