What I wore

Uniforms have a way of defining us.  For this photo what I wore was a ticket to explore Saddam Hussein's  destroyed palace in Baghdad.  By strange coincidence my wife was there at the same time.  I like to think that photos like these represent hope for the future in spite of the remnants of violence.

  1. Love this pic. I love the overall composition, the juxtaposition of your wife's smiling/beaming face compared to yours and the destruction in general, and the pose. I can imagine Sadaam striking a similar pose once upon a time. If you are ever profiled in the NY Times, I imagine this being one of those photos that show various moments throughout your life.
